About Us
RBSS set about after parents at a local special educational school expressed an interest in local children playing football. In May the first session took place and since children from over 6 special and mainstream schools have attended.
Please use the contact page to speak to me regarding the sessions.
We have moved venue over the winter months so please contact me for details of the location
The sessions always have a similar routine due to the autistic nature of some of the children. A warm up is done in one large group. Then it's time for a little bit of work. Passing, shooting, team work football games, turns and skills, penalties and more shooting with plenty of goals and premier league celebrations.
I split the children into workable groups with my four fantastic coaches. The non verbal children and beginners work with myself for a while and then we rotate the coaches around three or four groups depending on numbers on the day. This works extremely well.
We always finish with small sided football matches. The games are refereed strictly to emphasise the rules of the game, but more importantly to give maximum enjoyment and realism to the children.
Below are some of the lovely comments from parents and carers.
"Rob most certainly brings the fun and most importantly the confidence out of the children to participate in sport, which is important in their well being, the children are so much happier to have someone who understand their needs"
Karen Deary, Ryans mum.
"It's great for the children to have a teacher that understands the special needs of the children"
Mr Steve Anderson father of Sam.
"Connor loves it, it's the highlight of his week"
Faye, mum of Connor Peabody.
"Fantastic sessions for children with a wide range of physical and learning disabilities"
Steve, Blakes Dad.
"To see the boys develop and learn new skills in a fun way is brilliant"
Sue, Harvey and Matts mum.
